WELCOME TO THE AFHL U13AA DIVISION!

AFHL Tryouts Guide

As the 2025-26 hockey season approaches, AAA and AA Hockey teams will be conducting tryouts. As AAA and AA is competitive hockey, some players may not be selected for the team with which they tryout. Here is what you need to know if you are not selected for a AAA or AA team:

  1. Each player has the opportunity to tryout for a maximum of two (2) teams within a specific division of Elite Hockey (ie: U18 AAA, U18 AA, are each separate divisions within the U18 Category of hockey).
  2. A player, upon being informed they have not been selected for a given AAA/AA team, can:
    1. Attempt to arrange a second tryout: If not selected for an AFHL team and intending to attempt to arrange a second tryout, a player must contact the team they were released by and request an AFHL Waiver Form to provide as documentation to the second tryout team they were not selected for their first tryout in a given division. OR:
    2. Proceed to their Primary Recruitment Area team in the next lowest division of Elite Hockey they intend/are eligible to tryout within, OR
    3. Return to their Primary MHA to access non-elite programs.
  3. Contacts for second tryout inquiries can be found on the Host MHA Contacts Page.

These AFHL teams have indicated they are welcoming inquires for second tryouts for the following divisions/positions:
